Taurus Expands Global Presence with New Istanbul Office

Taurus SA, a leading digital asset infrastructure provider, has announced the expansion of its operations with a new office in Istanbul, Türkiye. This marks another milestone in its international growth strategy, strengthening its position as a technology leader across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

The expansion comes at a pivotal time as Türkiye implements new regulatory frameworks for digital assets that position Istanbul as an emerging hub for financial innovation. The new office will complement Taurus’ established presence in Dubai to create a strategic corridor that connects European, Middle Eastern, and Asian markets.

“Türkiye’s position as the link between Europe and Asia makes it an ideal location for Taurus’ continued expansion. With 3 banking clients in Türkiye and multiple pilots ongoing, it is the right time for Taurus to build a local presence in Turkey to serve our growing customer base.” said Bashir Kazour, Managing Director at Taurus.

M. Batuhan Özcan is Taurus’ first senior employee in its recently established Turkish office. He joins as Solution Architect and focuses on serving local and regional clients. Özcan brings technical expertise acquired at Garanti BBVA as Security Engineer and Softech – Isbank’s technology subsidiary – as blockchain DevOps engineer. Özcan added “With Istanbul’s emergence as a key financial center and Türkiye’s forward-thinking approach to digital asset regulation, we are well-positioned to serve financial institutions across these vital regions.”

Taurus has already established strong relationships in the Turkish market, including a partnership with Türkiye’s first neobank Misyon Bank, for asset custody and tokenization services.

“Taurus’ digital asset infrastructure provides the robust foundation we were seeking as we roll out Türkiye’s first tokenization-competent, cryptocurrency trading platform, so that tokenized assets across the region and Türkiye are kept secure within Turkish borders.” said Dr. Önder Halisdemir, CEO at Misyon Bank. “Their presence in Istanbul shows their commitment to the Turkish market and will enhance our ability to serve our digital asset clients.”

Additionally, Taurus is set to onboard two new clients in the region, marking a significant milestone in its regional growth and underscoring its commitment to meeting the needs of institutional investors in the rapidly evolving digital asset space.

The Istanbul office will offer Taurus’ full suite of digital asset management solutions, including custody and tokenization services, tailored to meet local regulatory requirements and market needs. This expansion is part of Taurus’ strategic growth in 2024 in key financial centers worldwide.

Today, Taurus has consolidated its position as a preferred digital asset infrastructure provider for banks and corporates, with more than 50% market share in Switzerland. The company continues to expand its global footprint, with the Istanbul office joining its network of locations in major financial hubs, including London, Paris, Frankfurt, Dubai, and Vancouver.
