Bitpanda’s Female Investors Are Approaching Crypto With a Long-Term Mindset
Bitpanda, Europe’s leading crypto platform, has conducted a survey of its female users and analysed platform trading data for the last 12 months to explore investment trends. This new data shows that the majority of female investors on Bitpanda are using the app to engage with financial markets for the first time.
While 81% of the female Bitpanda users that were surveyed say they don’t consider themselves experienced investors, they are approaching the market with a long-term mindset, and plan to use digital assets as a way to unlock financial growth. It also highlighted that 24% of female investors believe that a lack of investing knowledge is their biggest challenge, while 41% said that a lack of spare money was preventing them from meeting their investment goals.
Despite these challenges, they are actively using Bitpanda’s trusted and accessible platform to take control of their financial futures.
A long-term view

This aligns with survey data showing that 50% of female investors are focused on long-term financial growth, with 39% planning to invest for over five years and 49% aiming for a medium-term (1-5 years) approach.
Bitcoin remains the most popular investment
Once on the platform, male and female investors show slightly different outlooks when it comes to picking their first investments. While Bitcoin remains the most popular first investment for both men (24%) and women (30%), the gap in popularity highlights a slight preference among female investors for established coins. Overall, more than half of Bitpanda’s female investors choose an established cryptocurrency as their first asset with 54% investing into either Bitcoin, Ethereum, or XRP.
Despite saying they are early in their investment journeys, Bitpanda’s female users are steadily increasing their exposure to crypto. Women who started investing in January 2024 grew their investment size by an average of 8.1% over the past year, demonstrating growing confidence in the asset class.
Breaking down barriers to investing

Bitpanda remains committed to making investing secure and accessible, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to invest in the assets they choose, when they choose to.
