Yandex.Checkout welcomes DHgate.com – strengthening collaboration with Chinese online retailers
Chinese online retailer DHgate.com has started accepting payments using Yandex.Checkout. The most popular online payment provider in Russia and Chinese leading b2b e-commerce platform made the deal in May this year. Being a recommended foreign trade marketplace by Ministry of Commerce of China, DHgate.com has overall 1.7 million Chinese sellers and 15 million global buyers from 222 countries and regions. Its website operates in eight languages including Russian. DHgate lists 7.7 million products, among of the most popular ones in Russia are: • Athletic & Outdoor apparel • Wristwatches • Clothing and shoes • Computer accessories • Tea • Beauty equipment • Fashion bags The founder and CEO of DHgate Diane Wang says: “As one of the largest emerging markets for e-commerce, Russia has great potential to streamline international trading processes through cross-border e-commerce marketplaces like DHgate.com. By integrating solutions of payment, logistics, warehousing, marketing with local partners, DHgate will be able to enable local Russian retailers, especially Small-and-Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) to access first hand-made-in-China products, at competitive prices.” Cross-border e-commerce in Russia continues growing. In 2017, according to Association of Russian Internet Companies latest study, the e-com cross-border market reached 374.3 billion rub, with Chinese goods making 90% of all goods ordered in foreign online stores. Yandex.Checkout is currently expanding its collaboration with Chinese online stores.
