Comviva and Aduna Unveil Network Intelligence Solutions to Combat Financial Fraud at Money20/20
By Lauren Towner · 19 October 2026

Comviva and Aduna are leveraging standardized network APIs to tackle digital identity fraud and streamline onboarding for financial institutions. By integrating real-time mobile operator intelligence into the banking ecosystem, the collaboration aims to replace friction-heavy verification methods with more secure, network-derived insights that protect both banks and their customers.
What was announced
Comviva and Aduna have detailed the progress of their strategic collaboration, focusing on the use of network intelligence to address growing security challenges in financial services. The companies will showcase these advancements at Money20/20 USA in Las Vegas, scheduled for October 19–21, 2026. The demonstration will highlight how network APIs can be utilized by financial institutions for number verification, SIM-swap detection, and enhanced fraud prevention during customer onboarding and KYC processes.
This initiative builds on a partnership established in November 2025, designed to accelerate the adoption of network APIs through Comviva’s NGAGE platform. NGAGE serves as a Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) that allows enterprises to access both communication and network APIs through a single interface. The platform currently operates at a significant scale, supporting more than 7,000 enterprises and over 40 deployments. It processes more than 250 billion messages annually and offers a catalog of 130+ Communication APIs and 25+ Network APIs across 100+ industry use cases.
The collaboration utilizes CAMARA-standardized APIs provided by Aduna’s global operator ecosystem. By integrating these into the NGAGE platform, banks and fintechs can access real-time network data to strengthen authentication and reduce reliance on traditional one-time passwords (OTPs). Beyond identity and fraud, the companies are exploring future applications in lending risk and payments intelligence, where real-time network information can further support seamless digital experiences.
"Over the past year, NGAGE has evolved as a unified and scalable access point for enterprises looking to bring network intelligence into their digital journeys. Financial services is a natural priority because the impact can be measured directly through outcomes such as faster onboarding, stronger fraud controls and reduced dependence on OTPs and other verification steps. Our collaboration with Aduna, combined with Tech Mahindra's BFSI reach, enables us to take these capabilities to financial institutions across markets and help address these challenges at scale."

The companies involved
Comviva is a global specialist in digital transformation solutions, particularly within the mobile and financial technology sectors. The company is a subsidiary of Tech Mahindra, a major Indian multinational information technology services and consulting firm. Comviva’s portfolio spans across digital payments, real-time marketing, and integrated communications, often serving large-scale telecommunications operators and financial institutions globally. Its NGAGE platform is positioned as an AI-driven CPaaS solution designed to bridge the gap between telecom network capabilities and enterprise needs.
Aduna acts as a global aggregator of standardized network APIs, operating as a subsidiary of Ericsson. The company focuses on simplifying access to mobile operator networks by providing a unified gateway for CAMARA-standardized APIs. This standardization is critical for the industry, as it allows developers and enterprises to implement network-level security and intelligence features that work consistently across different mobile carriers and geographic markets. By bringing together a global ecosystem of operators, Aduna enables the commercialization of network assets that were previously difficult for third-party enterprises to access at scale.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Comviva’s expansion in the global fintech and payments landscape. In May 2026, the publication reported on how Comviva and Unlimit Partner to Strengthen Global Payment Capabilities for Merchants, a move aimed at scaling global payment methods for international businesses. This followed a significant operational milestone in late 2025, when Comviva Fintech Platforms Hits $1 Billion Daily Transaction Milestone, underscoring the company's growing influence in the high-volume transaction space.
Additionally, FF News covered the technological evolution of Comviva's core offerings, such as when Airtel Money Launches Next-Generation, Cloud-Native Mobile Money Platform Powered by Comviva's Mobiquity® Pay in November 2025. These reports highlight a consistent strategy of moving toward cloud-native, scalable infrastructure to support the digital transformation of financial services across emerging and developed markets.
What this means
This announcement signals a definitive shift in the digital identity market away from "active" authentication, like SMS-based OTPs, toward "passive" network-level verification. For years, the financial sector has struggled with the insecurity of SMS, which is vulnerable to interception and SIM-swapping. By moving the security layer directly into the carrier network via CAMARA-standardized APIs, Comviva and Aduna are addressing a critical vulnerability. This puts significant pressure on traditional KYC and identity verification providers who rely on document scanning or manual checks. The success of this model hinges on the global ubiquity of these APIs; if coverage remains fragmented across different regions, banks may hesitate to fully decommission their legacy authentication systems.
