Paysafe Envision Unveils GEN4 Formula E Car: A New Era for Fintech and Electric Racing
By Lauren Towner · 5 October 2026

Global payments firm Paysafe has secured title sponsorship of the Envision Formula E Team, rebranding the outfit as the Paysafe Envision Formula E Team for Season 13. This move signals a deepening intersection between high-performance fintech and digital sports entertainment, as payment providers increasingly seek high-visibility platforms to showcase technological innovation and engage global consumer audiences.
What was announced
The partnership was unveiled in Jacksonville, Florida, the hub of Paysafe’s US operations, with promotional imagery captured at the space launch complex in Cape Canaveral. The rebranding includes a new livery for the Season 13 campaign, integrating Paysafe’s blue and white visual identity with Envision’s traditional green. This aesthetic update coincides with the introduction of the GEN4 car, a significant technological leap for the electric racing series. The GEN4 vehicle features 450kW of power in race mode, 600kW in Attack Mode, and a 700kW regenerative capability—equivalent to more than 951bhp. Its energy capacity has increased by 43% to 55kWh compared to the previous generation, and it introduces permanent all-wheel drive.
The collaboration extends beyond the track, with both parties working together to develop new fan experiences, gaming and esports activations, merchandise opportunities, and exclusive digital content. Competitive action for the Paysafe Envision Formula E Team begins with pre-season testing in Madrid, ahead of a global tour of major cities for the 2026/27 championship. The team enters this new era as one of the most successful in the sport's history, having secured the Teams’ World Championship in Season 9 and maintaining its status as the second-highest points scorer of all-time. Further details regarding specific fan engagement initiatives are expected to be released as the season progresses.
"Season 13 marks the beginning of a really exciting new chapter for the team. We have a new name, new drivers, a new generation of Formula E car and a fantastic new partnership with Paysafe, so there is a real sense of momentum around the team. The livery brings all of that together. The green remains such an important part of our identity, but we’ve introduced the Paysafe colours to give the car a fresh look for this new era. We’re really proud of how it has come together and can’t wait to see it on track."
Franz Jung, VP of Envision Energy and CEO and Chairman of the Board of Paysafe Envision Formula E Team.

What FF News has reported before
FF News has tracked Paysafe’s expansion across various digital sectors, including its efforts to enable Brazilian gamers to pay for Boosteroid by Pix. The company’s focus on digital communities was further highlighted in its collaboration with Endava, where Endava and Paysafe Unite to Redefine the Future of Payments and Digital Communities. Additionally, Paysafe has demonstrated a commitment to high-profile marketing activations, such as when Paysafe and Skrill Power Woody & Kleiny’s 15,000-Mile US Soccer Road Trip. Our previous reporting also underscores the broader market sentiment, noting that U.S. SMBs Say Payment Innovation Is Key Driver of Growth, a trend that aligns with Paysafe’s strategic focus on innovation through this new title partnership.
What this means
This title partnership reflects a broader trend where fintech firms move beyond simple sponsorship into deep-brand integration within high-tech sports. By aligning with Formula E’s GEN4 launch, Paysafe is positioning its brand alongside cutting-edge engineering and sustainability, which are increasingly important to the younger, tech-savvy demographics found in gaming and e-commerce. The move puts pressure on other payment providers to find equally high-impact ways to demonstrate technological relevance in a crowded market. However, the success of such a venture depends on whether these proposed digital activations can translate into actual transaction volume or if they remain purely brand-awareness exercises in an increasingly expensive sports-marketing landscape.
