LUMIQ Names Rohit Nagpal as Americas CEO to Scale AI-Native Financial Services in the US
By Lauren Towner · 11 September 2026

LUMIQ has appointed Rohit Nagpal as Global President & CEO, Americas, to spearhead its expansion into the North American financial services market. Effective August 1, 2026, the move signals a shift from a regional presence to a dedicated go-to-market operation, aiming to deploy AI-native decisioning agents within highly regulated US banks and insurance providers.
What was announced
Nagpal will be based in Dallas, Texas, reporting directly to Shoaib Mohammad, the Founder & Global CEO of LUMIQ. His appointment is a direct result of a strategic funding round led by Bajaj Finserv, which identified the United States and Southeast Asia as primary growth territories. Nagpal’s mandate is comprehensive: he is tasked with building a North American go-to-market team, standardising global sales cadences, and overseeing marketing and M&A activities across the Americas.
The expansion focuses on the LiteCone platform, which deploys AI agents designed to handle specific financial roles such as insurance and credit underwriting. Unlike traditional automation, these agents are built to reach end-to-end decisions based on an institution’s specific guidelines, only escalating complex cases to human staff. A key product in this suite is the LEO agent, which has already demonstrated significant results at a leading life insurer. According to the company, LEO handles 75–80% of underwriting cases without human intervention, reducing policy issuance costs by approximately 25% and cutting turnaround times from several days to less than eight minutes.
LUMIQ currently operates in India, the United States, and Southeast Asia, with its existing US operations managed from New Jersey. The new leadership structure in Dallas is intended to transform this presence into a robust ecosystem of partnerships and sales operations tailored for the scale and scrutiny of North American institutions.
"Every week we meet a US insurer or bank running a proof of concept that will never reach production. Technology is not what stops them. What stops them is that no one has shown them an AI decision they could defend to a regulator, run at a fraction of the cost, and deliver before the customer on the other end ever feels stuck in a queue. We can, and we already do. What we have not had is the leadership on the ground to bring that to every institution that needs it. Rohit has built and run exactly that motion, in this market, for this buyer."

The companies involved
LUMIQ is an AI-native financial services firm that positions itself as a provider of production-ready AI agents. The company employs more than 350 data and AI specialists across its offices in New Jersey, Singapore, and Delhi NCR. Its core offering, the LiteCone platform, is designed to turn traditional financial roles—including claims adjudicators and underwriters—into explainable and auditable AI agents. This approach combines deep domain expertise in banking and capital markets with frontier AI technology to ensure that every decision made by the system is cross-referenced to policy and defensible under audit.
The company’s recent growth is supported by Bajaj Finserv, a major player in the Indian financial services sector that led LUMIQ’s latest strategic funding round. Rohit Nagpal joins the leadership team with over 25 years of experience in scaling enterprise technology businesses. His career includes tenures as Chief Business Officer at Tenarai and CEO at PeopleShores, alongside leadership positions at HCL and Blue Star. This background in selling to large, regulated institutions is central to LUMIQ’s strategy of moving AI from experimental proofs of concept into core production environments.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed the company’s trajectory as it transitions from a regional specialist to a global contender in the AI decisioning space. In June 2026, we reported on the company’s capital injection in LUMIQ Raises Strategic Funding to Become the AI Decision Layer for Financial Services. That report highlighted how the strategic investment from Bajaj Finserv was specifically earmarked to fuel the company’s ambition of becoming the primary AI decision layer for the global financial sector. The funding was a pivotal moment, providing the resources necessary to target the US market, where the demand for auditable AI is rapidly increasing. This latest executive appointment represents the execution of the expansion strategy outlined during that funding round, moving the company closer to its goal of processing millions of decisions annually across international markets.
What this means
The appointment of a dedicated CEO for the Americas marks a critical juncture for AI adoption in the financial sector. For years, US banks and insurers have been trapped in a cycle of "pilot purgatory," where AI projects fail to move past the proof-of-concept stage due to regulatory and audit concerns. LUMIQ is betting that the market is now ready for "defensible" AI that prioritizes explainability over black-box speed. This puts significant pressure on traditional software vendors who have struggled to integrate auditability into their automation tools. The industry must now grapple with whether AI agents can truly replace human judgment in high-stakes underwriting without increasing systemic risk.
