ITC Europe has confirmed its return to Barcelona on 28–29 May 2026, setting the stage for one of the continent’s most significant insurtech gatherings. For fintech and insurance professionals, the event represents a critical junction for networking and strategy, bringing together over 650 key stakeholders to address the evolving technological and regulatory landscape of the European market.
What was announced
The 2026 edition of ITC Europe will be held at La Llotja de Mar in Barcelona under the theme "The Art of Innovation: Where Creativity Meets Capability." The two-day programme is structured around six strategic pillars: Strategy & Leadership, Operating Models & Execution, Regulation, Risk & Resilience, Technology & Data, Distribution, Brand & Customer, and Startup & Venture Innovation.
The event expects to host more than 650 participants, including insurers, insurtech firms, and investors. Organisers anticipate that 75% of attendees will be senior executives and decision-makers, facilitating an estimated 3,254 meetings. The agenda features a Main Stage for keynotes and panels covering topics such as claims transformation, underwriting innovation, cyber resilience, and sustainability. Alongside the main content, interactive Roundtables and Workshops are designed to allow delegates to benchmark strategies and share real-world experiences.
Confirmed speakers for the 2026 event include Léo Mallat, Chief Risk Officer at Swiss Re Europe; Daniella de Lint, Chief Claims Officer at MSIG Europe SE; and Des Field-Corbett, Chief Technology Officer & Chief Innovation Officer at Allianz Direct. Other notable participants include Arslan Hannani, CIO at Aviva, and Magdalena Ramada Sarasola, Global Insurtech Innovation Lead at WTW. The event also features an Innovation Zone for startups focusing on AI, IoT, and data analytics, as well as "Challenge Labs" where innovators pitch solutions to insurer problems.
"What makes ITC Europe special is the quality of conversation that happens when the right people come together. With insurers, insurtech companies, and investors all in one place, the event creates a unique space for honest discussion, new partnerships, and real innovation. Our goal for 2026 is simple: bring the brightest minds in European insurance together and give them the platform to shape what comes next."

The companies involved
ITC Europe is a major industry event focused on the intersection of insurance and technology within the European market. The 2026 edition is positioned as a destination for senior executives, with a significant portion of the expected 650 attendees holding decision-making roles. The event serves as a platform for insurers, insurtech companies, and investors to engage in strategic networking and explore transformative ideas.
The organisations represented in the initial speaker list reflect a broad cross-section of the insurance sector. This includes major carriers such as Aviva and MSIG Europe SE, alongside digital-focused entities like Allianz Direct. Reinsurance perspectives are provided by Swiss Re Europe, while the brokerage and partnership segments are represented by NN Group. Additionally, WTW brings a focus on global insurtech innovation to the programme. These companies are involved in addressing industry-wide challenges such as claims transformation, underwriting innovation, and cyber resilience. By bringing these diverse players together in Barcelona, the event facilitates the exchange of practical solutions and the development of new partnerships across the European insurance landscape.
What this means
The focus of the 2026 agenda suggests that the European insurance market is moving past the "hype" phase of digital transformation and into a period of rigorous execution. By prioritising themes like regulation and cyber resilience alongside AI and IoT, the industry is acknowledging that innovation cannot exist in a vacuum; it must be balanced against increasing compliance burdens and a volatile risk landscape. For incumbents, the pressure is mounting to demonstrate that technology investments can deliver tangible improvements in loss ratios and customer retention. Meanwhile, the high concentration of senior decision-makers indicates that the appetite for large-scale partnerships remains strong despite broader economic headwinds.
