The European Investment Fund and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego have committed €30 million to Inovo.vc’s latest venture capital fund, signaling a major liquidity injection for Central and Eastern European startups. For fintech professionals, this move reinforces Poland's status as a regional hub for high-growth technology and institutional-grade venture capital allocation.

What was announced

The European Investment Fund (EIF) and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) have finalized a €30 million (approximately PLN 129 million) investment into a new venture capital fund managed by Inovo.vc. This transaction represents the fourth investment executed under the Future Tech Poland (FTP) initiative, a joint program designed to scale the Polish venture ecosystem. To date, the FTP initiative has allocated roughly PLN 580 million to various fund managers.

The new fund managed by Inovo.vc is specifically targeted at early-stage technology companies. The capital is intended to support innovative, high-growth firms that demonstrate the potential to scale their operations across Europe and into global markets. The investment strategy focuses on sectors critical to modern infrastructure and digital transformation, including fintech, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and defense technologies. By providing this capital, the EIF and BGK aim to increase the overall size of local funds, ensuring that Polish companies have access to the necessary resources to compete internationally.

This commitment is a key component of the broader Innovate Poland program. Under the FTP framework, BGK has provided a PLN 1 billion allocation, which is complemented by a PLN 500 million co-investment managed by the EIF. The partners expect to reach over 40% of the total FTP allocation by the end of the current year, providing a steady stream of institutional capital to the domestic market.

"The investment in the fund managed by Inovo.vc is already the fourth transaction under the Future Tech Poland programme, which is one of the pillars of the Innovate Poland initiative. It also marks another step in the implementation of BGK’s investment strategy. Our goal is to systematically strengthen Poland’s competitiveness and consistently reinforce the domestic venture capital ecosystem, ensuring that institutional capital reaches the country’s most innovative companies. By the end of the year, we plan to achieve more than 40% of the total allocation of Future Tech Poland funds,"

Jarosław Dąbrowski, Member of the Management Board of BGK.

The companies involved

The European Investment Fund (EIF) is a central pillar of the European Union’s financial architecture, focusing on providing risk capital to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the continent. It often partners with national promotional institutions to deploy targeted funding. Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) is Poland’s state-owned development bank. Operating under its own investment strategy, BGK is tasked with supporting the social and economic growth of Poland, with a specific focus on enhancing the country's industrial and technological competitiveness.

Future Tech Poland (FTP) serves as a fund-of-funds managed by the EIF, acting as a bridge between large-scale institutional capital and the specific needs of the Polish technology sector. It is one of the primary pillars of the Innovate Poland initiative. Inovo.vc, the recipient of this latest allocation, is a venture capital firm that has been active since 2014. The firm has a track record of backing over 70 teams across Poland and the wider Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region, positioning itself as a primary institutional partner for founders at the earliest stages of company building.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has previously tracked the EIF’s involvement in fostering specialized financial ecosystems across the European Union. In July 2026, we covered how the institution provided backing for localized credit solutions in the report Froda and Kontist by Shine Launch EU-Backed Microfinancing for German Sole Traders. This prior coverage highlights the EIF's ongoing strategy of utilizing regional partners to deploy capital into specific market segments, ranging from micro-entrepreneurs in Germany to high-growth venture funds in Poland.

What this means

This investment is a clear signal that institutional confidence in the CEE region remains high despite broader global venture cooling. By backing Inovo.vc, the EIF and BGK are doubling down on the "early-stage" thesis, recognizing that the next generation of fintech and AI leaders requires domestic capital that can follow them through multiple rounds. For other VC firms in the region, the pressure is now on to demonstrate similar scale and professionalization to attract FTP allocations. Watch for a surge in Polish fintech activity as Inovo.vc begins deploying this fresh dry powder; the focus will likely shift from local survival to aggressive European expansion.
