FinQuery Expands European Footprint with Acquisition of Innervision to Launch FinQuery UK
By Lauren Towner · 11 September 2026

FinQuery has acquired Innervision from IRIS Software Group, a move that establishes a dedicated UK presence for the US-based subledger platform. For fintech professionals, this represents a significant consolidation in the lease accounting and compliance space, specifically targeting the complexities of FRS 102 and IFRS 16 reporting for UK-based organisations.
What was announced
FinQuery, known for its Intelligent Subledger Platform, has officially launched FinQuery UK following the acquisition of Innervision. This move is designed to deepen the company's support for regional clients and accelerate its capabilities regarding UK-specific accounting standards, notably FRS 102 and IFRS 16. The acquisition allows FinQuery to establish dedicated local operations, building on nearly a decade of service to UK and European companies from abroad.
The platform currently serves more than 8,700 customers globally. By integrating Innervision, FinQuery aims to provide UK accounting and finance teams with a more robust, end-to-end solution for managing financial obligations and capital assets. The system handles lease accounting, fixed assets, debt management, accruals, and prepaid expense automation. This creates a controlled, audit-ready environment for organisations to understand exactly what they lease, own, and owe.
A key component of the offering is FinQuery’s proprietary Accountable AI, which facilitates continuous product investment and built-in automation to ensure audit readiness. Existing Innervision customers are expected to receive uninterrupted service and the same standard of support they previously held. Over time, these customers will gain access to the broader FinQuery platform, extending their capabilities beyond lease accounting into other areas of financial management. The financial terms of the transaction between FinQuery and IRIS Software Group were not disclosed.
"The UK is an important growth market for FinQuery, and Innervision gives us something we value enormously: an established customer base, deep local expertise, and a team that understands the accounting needs of UK organisations. By bringing Innervision into FinQuery, we can combine that expertise with the scale, product investment, and broader capabilities of the FinQuery platform. Our goal is straightforward: give UK accounting and finance teams a better way to manage complex accounting today and a platform that can grow with them well beyond lease accounting."
Joe Schab, CEO of FinQuery.
The companies involved
FinQuery operates as an Intelligent Subledger Platform focused on financial obligations and capital assets. The company provides organisations with the tools to manage what they lease, own, and owe, ensuring that accounting remains controlled and audit-ready. Based in the United States, it has expanded its reach to serve a global customer base of over 8,700 organisations, focusing on lease accounting, debt management, and prepaid expense automation.
Innervision, the acquired entity, was previously a part of IRIS Software Group. It has built a reputation for specialised UK compliance capabilities, particularly in the realm of lease accounting and IFRS 16 standards. IRIS Software Group is a major player in the UK software market, providing a wide range of solutions across accountancy, education, and human capital management. IRIS has a history of partnerships and strategic shifts that refine its focus on core payroll and HR sectors. The sale of Innervision allows IRIS to divest a specialised accounting niche while providing FinQuery with the local infrastructure and expertise necessary to compete effectively in the UK market against established local providers.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has extensively covered the activities of IRIS Software Group as it expands its footprint in the financial wellness and payroll sectors. In 2026, the company made headlines when IRIS Software Group Partners with Sync Savings to Bring Payroll Savings to Millions of UK Employees. This followed a 2025 initiative where IRIS Software Group Partners with ZayZoon to Deliver Earned-Wage Access and Financial Wellness Tools.
The group’s focus on salary access and employee financial health was also evident in 2022 when IRIS and Revolut join forces to give thousands more Brits early salary access. Additionally, FF News reported on the broader SaaS landscape involving IRIS partners, such as when UNIPaaS launches AI Assist solution to unlock payment growth potential for SaaS platforms in early 2024.
What this means
This acquisition signals an intensifying battle for the UK mid-market accounting sector. By absorbing Innervision, FinQuery is not just buying a customer list; it is acquiring the regulatory nuance required to navigate FRS 102, a hurdle that often stymies US fintechs attempting UK expansion. The move puts pressure on traditional ERP providers and local accounting software firms that have been slow to automate complex lease and debt subledgers. It also highlights a trend where generalist software groups like IRIS are divesting specialised compliance tools to focused platform players. The industry must now consider whether "Accountable AI" can truly replace the manual oversight currently dominant in UK lease auditing.
