N26’s Will Sorby Discuss The Separation Between Digital & Cloud-Based Banking
Will Sorby, Director of Product Strategy & Monetisations at N26 sits down with Doug Mackenzie to discuss the distinctions between digital banking & cloud-based banking.
“Digital Banking is really how people understand modern banks to be working. Now that can apply to what we call neo-banks in the industry. Most people would know this is the likes of N26 and there are others out there who I’m sure listeners will know, or it can even be older banks.”
“Digital Banking is effectively banking through your phone, banking through a website or through other digital mediums. Now Cloud Banking is effectively the technology that we use to deliver [digital banking] to our users. Our users, bluntly, shouldn’t need to know what Cloud Banking is. That’s how we think about it, that’s how we deliver it. It’s effectively us building our technology through the cloud, distributed, and then that has lots of benefits that helps us build better products.”
