Over at Fintech Meetup 2023, the FF News team sat down for a conversation with Lauren Crossett, the Chief Revenue Officer at Pinwheel. Pinwheel aims to make sense of real-time income and employment data so financial service providers can become the primary bank, reduce risk and activate users.

“Pinwheel provides connectivity to consumers’ payroll or more broadly and more accurately, income accounts. Then, from that point of connectivity, there are really 2 buckets of things that we enable. The first is we allow consumers to make edits to things like their direct deposit or just general edits to that payroll account. That’s huge with banks and fintechs because they want as soon as you are prompted to open an account with them, the next thing to be to move your deposit there. We provide that very simple flow.”

“The second thing that we do is from that same point of connectivity. There’s a lot of data in that account relative to someone’s income and their employment and so we pull all of that information and then we also make sense of the data to answer questions like how much have they earned? What do we think they’re going to earn in the future?”
