Over at Fintech Meetup 2023 in Las Vegas, the FF News team sat down for a conversation with Sheel Mohnot, the Co-Founder of Better Tomorrow Ventures. Better Tomorrow Ventures is a $225m fund that leads rounds in pre-seed and seed-stage fintech companies globally.

“Myself and my co-founder Jake are both former founders ourselves. We started a few different companies, I started a payment company and an auction company. Jake started a company called NerdWallet that went public a couple of years ago. We’ve been interested in finance and the world of technology for a very long time.”

“The name ‘Better Tomorrow Ventures’ is there because we think finance has a disproportionate ability to impact people’s lives and make people’s lives better. I think about it from a lens of myself 15-20 years ago. I was living in India on not a lot of money, but I was working in microfinance. To serve one borrower, I would take a bus, get on the back of a motorcycle and go to serve one borrower, and it was very expensive to do this. In terms of fees, it became very expensive but now all of this can be done through the phone.”
