Driving Seamless Payments With Click-to-Pay | G+D Netcetera at MPE 2025

At MPE 2025, Suzana Kordumova and Dr. Thomas Fromherz from G+D Netcetera talked about the future of digital payments. Fromherz pointed out that what consumers want is now the main force behind new developments—which can differ a lot by region, age, and platform. For example, Gen Z likes to shop via Instagram, and many users want quick and easy transactions, so payment methods need to keep up with these changes.

He mentioned a few big trends affecting payments: instant payments for things like payroll and government payouts, the rivalry between NFC and QR code payments, and the potential growth of stablecoins. But he noted that credit cards are still the most common tool people use. Innovations are focusing on three main techs: tokenization, click-to-pay, and passkeys, all aimed at making checkout smoother and safer.

Kordumova gave a straightforward overview of click-to-pay. This solution makes online card payments easier by letting users pick from saved cards with just one click, so they don’t have to type in card details each time. She shared a success story, mentioning that one customer saw a 13.7% increase in conversion rates after using this feature. Tokenization is important here too, as it swaps out sensitive info with secure tokens to help fight fraud and reduce chargebacks.

She also talked about the challenges of getting click-to-pay working across the payment system, which involves issuers, card schemes, merchants, and payment service providers. To help with this, G+D Netcetera offers a full range of technical solutions, including an SRC initiator that already works with major players like Visa, Mastercard, and Amex. Their ready-to-use tools aim to ease the technical workload and keep merchants updated as the payment landscape changes.
