The payments potential in South Africa with BankservAfrica | FF News at Sibos 2023
From Sibos 2023, FF News speak to Roshan Moonsamy, the interim CEO at BankservAfrica, to find out what he thought of the conference and where the South African payments landscape is heading. Like many other local organisations they are working hard to find out what the best use cases of new technology are and how they can move forward with faster, real time payments.
South Africa and Africa more broadly is home to some exciting payments innovation. Moonsamy says they have the opportunity to leapfrog more established markets but that they still face many of the same challenges. The tech is ready, but it’s not always the case that the regulator is too.
