From the Mastercard booth at Sibos 2023, we speak to Peter Reynolds, the Executive VP of Real Time Payments at Mastercard, to get an impression of the global payments landscape. He’s well placed to talk about various markets around the world at different stages in their real time payments journey. The UK has been a leader in the space but he also notes the progress made by Brazil and India, as well as Thailand and the Philippines who represent great case studies for growth in this area.

We also hear about the work they do to support countries in the area of security and consumer protection, stopping financial crime at the source. Plus, there’s some comments on the factors driving adoption of instant payments in America and elsewhere.
