Who rules Europe when it comes to e-commerce?

We find out in part one of our ‘Nexi Roadshow’ series.

Over the next few months we’ll be travelling across Germany to uncover consumer payment trends and scope out the landscape. It’s a brilliant opportunity to visit some of the best conferences and events in the business and find the brightest minds in fintech.

First stop: Berlin for MPE 2024.

This payments focused conference gathers top representatives from across the ecosystem, making it the perfect opportunity to speak to European payments experts and thought leaders to find out what they knew.

Focussing on the DACH region in particular, and aided by the Nexi European E-Commerce Report, we rustled up a little quiz to find out if these experts really know their stuff.

Taking place in the Intercontinental Hotel, we spoke to exhibitors, attendees and speakers who all offered their own perspectives. It was clear these guys knew the region, although some of the answers were surprising.

We asked them questions like, who spent the most on travel expenditures, who uses e-wallets the most and also who spends the most on takeaways.

There’s some interesting stats in here about changing habits, in light of e-commerce’s greater popularity and the use of digital wallets. There’s also a clear common denominator in all of this.

Ultimately, the main thing is that our guests enjoyed themselves, in a little bit of a fun break from the (not-so-serious) talk on payments, fintech and more. Nexi are aiming to highlight how people pay in the region and provide an insight into where banks and PSPs need to focus.
