What Makes a Great Event? | FF News at Fintech Meetup 2024

What’s the key to a good conference? We found out from delegates on the floor of Fintech Meetup 2024 in Las Vegas.

Last time around, we spoke to these interesting innovators and networking nuts to find out what Fintech Meetup does differently to other conferences.

There’s a lot of them around and you’d be forgiven for thinking they can’t all be good. They’re an integral part of the fintech ecosystem that’s for sure but some have that special combination of ingredients that makes them a must attend.

As it happens, Fintech Meetup was buzzing with activity so we wanted to know what goes into making that happen. What’s the formula for a successful event?

In the video above, founders, and decision makers from organisations like Alloy, IDVerse and more give us a taste of what it is they’re looking for when they attend a fintech conference.

For some it’s the cool booths and the swag. Certainly if you search Google for anything related to conferences, swag and freebies are usually one of the main things to come up. For others they’re looking for good networking opportunities, great conversations and good energy. Fortunately for those attending Fintech Meetup, it has both of those in spades.

As for how to bring the goods, Peter Zhou from Rutter API pointed out how important it is that the organisers cultivate an environment that can facilitate genuine connections. John Griffin from M3ter Limited says he’s looking for good ROI too. These events aren’t free after all!

It probably goes without saying that the people are the key to a great event but we imagine a lot of business heads would say it also needs to be worth attending. At the end of the day the best conferences for delegates are the ones where you walk away with a deal or a game changing connection. Of course, it also helps to have fun along the way.
