Bankhaus von der Heydt can trace its roots back to 1754 when the von der Heydt family ran a cloth trading and general import and export business in Elberfeld. Exchange transactions and loans were part and parcel from the very beginning. Today, Bankhaus von der Heydt is one of the oldest owner-managed private banks in Germany and one of the oldest banks in Europe, breaking new grounds in financial markets by utilising blockchain technology.
