About The Data Inspiration Group

Digdata is an online programme connecting students across the UK with data professionals from leading brands and services. Our mission is to build a unique community that inspires young minds to consider a career in data. Despite the numerous career opportunities, there is a national shortage of data professionals. It is therefore essential that, throughout their education, young people are given the necessary tools to upskill and develop their competency to enable them to consider data as a future career choice. Digdata does this by connecting with industry partners (our ‘data champions’) to create fun, innovative virtual work-experience challenges that use data to solve real business or social problems. We also invite our data champions to host live careers panels showcasing their young professionals. By engaging with relatable role models, students are given visibility of the different educational pathways into the data industry, along with the wealth of varied careers. The industry needs creative problem solvers, inquisitive thinkers and good communicators – skills that are transferrable from all curriculum subjects and that are relevant to multiple industry sectors. Digdata demonstrates the pathways and careers available to students with different skillsets and passions. Digdata activities are free to 12+ UK students. By getting involved, our partners have a direct path to students these students, enabling them to nurture and harness future talent. Our programmes can also help brands and services build more diverse and inclusive teams. With nationwide reach, our programme is fully accessible to all students, with up to 10,000 taking part in each event. We believe that inspiring young minds early is essential, and we want students of all backgrounds and academic abilities to know that a career in data is a choice available to them.
