People’s Credit Union is a community Credit Union that has served the people of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts since 1922. People’s Credit Union is owned by its members and is a not-for-profit, cooperative financial institution. We operate 6 branches located in Bristol, Middletown, Newport, North Kingstown, Portsmouth, and Wakefield, as well as a network of ATMs. We pride ourselves on working with members and businesses to find the best match for their financial needs. People’s Credit Union offers a wide range of deposit and loan products, along with many convenient services, including online banking and online account opening. As a community credit union we subscribe to the philosophy of “people helping people”​ by supporting many not-profit charitable agencies and organizations within the communities we serve. People’s Credit Union happily makes significant financial contributions to support the work of organizations like Child & Family, The James L. Maher Center, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center, and The Johnny Cake Center, to name a few. Employees donate their time and efforts for important causes such as the Light the Night Walk, Save the Bay Beach Clean-Ups and Hasbro Children’s Hospital Radiothon. During 2013 our employees donated more than 1000 hours to worthwhile causes around the state. People’s Credit Union dedicates resources to provide financial literacy education and budgeting workshops to many social and human services agencies, including the Newport Housing Authority, the RI Community Food Bank and the East Bay Community Action Program.
