Mastercard and OnePay Power Near Real‑Time Remittances for Workers in the UK
Mastercard OnePay Remittances now power faster cross-border payments for UK workers. This partnership introduces near real-time transfers, giving workers safe and easy access to their pay. The OnePay UK remittance program helps meet the growing demand for modern payroll solutions among temporary and migrant workers.
At the heart of the offering is the integration of Mastercard Move, which enables OnePay users to send money internationally with trackable payments, visibility of fees, and clear delivery times. Once funds are sent from a OnePay account, they can arrive in near real-time across dozens of markets — helping individuals support loved ones with greater speed and transparency.
Complementing the cross-border functionality is the OnePay card and digital account, a practical solution designed for those without access to traditional banking services. With no credit checks required, applicants can open an account and receive a contactless Mastercard prepaid card. Workers can manage their finances via the ‘My OnePay’ mobile app and multilingual online portal, which supports multiple nationalities and languages.
This complete solution is especially important for seasonal and migrant workers, many of whom face barriers to financial inclusion. By addressing both the domestic need for secure wage payments and the international need to remit funds home, Mastercard and OnePay are delivering a powerful combination of financial tools designed for real-world needs.
The Mastercard OnePay remittances system meets the need for quick and reliable access to pay for groups of workers in the UK who don’t have it.
Darren Deal, SVP Fintech, Government & Digital Partnerships, UKI at Mastercard, said:
“Every year, remittances serve as a vital source of income for millions of families worldwide. By embedding Mastercard Move into OnePay’s account and card solution, people have a faster, safer, and more transparent way to send money home. This is yet another example of the role that innovative fintechs can play in enabling financial inclusion across the UK.”
Lee Hartley, CEO at OnePay, said: “At OnePay we have always focused on removing the barriers that many workers face when accessing and managing their money. By integrating Mastercard Move into our solution we are not only making it faster and easier for our customers to support their families back home, we are giving them greater control and peace of mind. This collaboration is a natural step forward in our mission to create fairer and more inclusive financial services for those who need them most.”
To date, OnePay and Mastercard have supported over 800,000 workers through collaborations with more than 550 employers and labour providers across a range of industries. Together, they have processed over £4 billion in transactions, including £1.4 billion in ATM withdrawals.
This collaboration reinforces Mastercard’s commitment to inclusive, secure, and efficient cross-border payments — and marks another step in delivering trusted financial solutions to people everywhere.
By launching Mastercard OnePay Remittances, both companies aim to change how cross-border payroll works by offering safe, almost real-time solutions that work for today’s mobile workforce.
