Stripe Integration Highlights Open Banking Expo’s Innovation Drive as Award Submissions Open in 15+ Categories

Open Banking Expo has become the first and only Open Banking-focused event in the UK to offer delegates a Pay by Bank payment option, thanks to Stripe’s latest integration – demonstrating its continued commitment to championing the ecosystem it serves.

Developed by Stripe, the new functionality enables organisations using platforms like WordPress to integrate Pay by Bank for ticketing and event bookings, marking a breakthrough for SMEs and event organisers embracing Open Banking-powered payments.

The news coincides with the launch of entries for the 2025 Open Banking Expo Awards, which celebrate the individuals, institutions and initiatives driving data-led transformation in financial services.

Now in its fourth year, the Awards recognise excellence across categories such as Best Industry Partnership, Best Use of Data, and Best Open Banking Payments Project. New for 2025 is the Champion for Change Award, rewarding those who have actively supported and championed the advancement of women in Open Banking and Open Finance.

Kelly Stanley, Co-founder and Director of Open Banking Expo, said: “As a brand built to champion Open Banking, it’s important to us to walk the walk. Adding Pay by Bank as a ticketing option isn’t just about innovation – it’s about making it tangible and visible to the wider community. We’re proud to be the first B2B UK event to do so with Stripe’s latest integration.

“This all comes as we open entries for the 2025 Open Banking Expo Awards, which this year will be judged by a fantastic panel of industry leaders. We’re excited to celebrate the individuals and teams driving forward the future of Open Banking and Open Finance.”

This year’s judging panel brings together more than 30 senior leaders and experts from across the financial industry, including:
