Breaking News
I spent 20 years in investment banking, navigated through two financial crises, grew up in the emergence of electronic trading, and the development of the S-REIT market. Each milestone changed the investment landscape for the better, I thought. More transparency, more accountability, more diversity... but a decade later, it started to feel like more regulation, less growth, less innovation.
I watched the emergence of blockchain with great interest. I saw it evolving at breakneck speed, and more excitingly, I saw the investment landscape shifting again - this time, radically. I could see it as a chance for Singapore to step up and lead the democratisation of capital markets. I knew I had to get involved, and ADDX, which is at the forefront of the ‘blockchain revolution’ here in Singapore, was my opportunity.
As we grew from strength to strength, I witnessed firsthand how ADDX made a difference to investors by disrupting for good. Blockchain has opened the capital markets up to independent investors and not only does that mean we can diversify our portfolios, but we really must. The usual successful portfolio, the old “safe bets”, they just aren’t going to keep up with the rising cost of living – we have to think bigger if we want to keep up. ADDX is helping current and the next generation of investors do just that. While the future unfolds before our eyes, I saw how ADDX played a part in creating a completely different world for people to work, play and invest in.
