About Marek Pärtel

Marek Pärtel, has been an entrepreneur all his life. Just after graduating high school, he sold his old Russian car and went to Florida to buy Nike and Tommy Hilfiger for Estonian sports stores as the official distribution channels were missing back in the 90s in Estonia. During the last 15 years, Marek Pärtel has understood what gets his pulse racing—property. During these years, the property market has certainly delivered on interest, challenge, and adrenaline. Living and thriving through economic crises taught him a lot about taking and managing risks in property investments, both in Estonia and abroad. As a developer and investor himself, he knows there are situations when banks are not willing to lend money or are very slow, even though the business plan is solid and the security is strong. Seeing huge inefficiencies in the financial world, in 2013, the idea of creating an alternative marketplace for property investments was born. With extensive experience in the property sector from 8 countries, Marek Pärtel co-founded EstateGuru—an online marketplace for secured property loans and investments. With the support of over 80,000 investors from 109 countries so far, they have already disbursed loans of over €340,000,000 in 8 countries and are now building the leading cross-border marketplace for short- and mid-term property loans in Europe. With the investors, borrowers, and supporters who have joined them on their journey already, they are building an ecosystem of property finance and wealth management to make it more transparent, flexible, and accessible for both businesses and investors of different profiles.
