About Makis Antypas

Makis Antypas, An accomplished international FinTech professional, with extensive experience in the design and implementation of large-scale transactional systems for the banking, retail, ticketing and electronic commerce industries across Europe. Makis is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Viva Bank, following the recent acquisition of Praxiabank by the Viva Wallet group. As a co-founder and Group CIO, he successfuly leads the design, implementation and delivery of the company’s innovative payment services. Viva Wallet is a technologically innovative, self-developed state-of-the-art payment provider and the first European PSP which is entirely cloud-based on Microsoft Azure. The group has international presence with physical branches in 23 European countries, an e-money and a Banking license. Viva is a Principal Member of MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, JCB and several other local schemes, offering Acquiring and Issuing services with direct connectivity. It also provides local IBAN accounts for EU and UK businesses. Makis Antypas is also the Co-founder & SVP Technology at Viva.com since November 2005. With a background in web development and business development, Makis has been an Advisor at TEDxAcademy from September 2010 to September 2017. Prior to that, Makis was a Partner and Web Development Lead at Intetek Ltd from April 2004 to December 2009. Makis also served as a Business Development Manager at Cakehouse Systems Ltd and as a Software Engineer at Cakehouse Ltd. Makis holds a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Piraeus and a Master's degree in Information Systems from The University of Sheffield.
