Zappar teams up with the Royal Mint Experience to bring the new 50p coin to life!

The iconic 50p coin is getting a futuristic makeover for its 50th birthday as the Royal Mint turns to augmented reality technology for the first time.

Global augmented reality specialist, Zappar, has collaborated with the Royal Mint Experience to bring the new 50p coin to life. The experience launches as the 50p coin celebrates its 50th birthday, bringing an interactive and engaging experience to collectors looking to strike their own limited edition coin.

Zappar has created a custom Zapcode as part of the coin’s specially designed packaging  which collectors can scan with a smartphone to unlock exclusive content, including the opportunity to take and share a birthday picture with their very own virtual 50p coin.
