Yandex.Checkout provides online prepayments for Tesla Model Y

Yandex.Checkout offers Russian customers the opportunity to make an online preorder and an advance payment for Tesla Model Y, an electric crossover by Elon Musk’s Tesla Motors. The new Model Y is now available to Russian customers for online pre-booking at the Moscow Tesla Club website.

“Online car sales are growing in Russia, and so is the number of auto enthusiasts who would like to own a Tesla electric car. Russian customers can preorder Model Y by making an advance payment from a bank card. Thanks to the continuing partnership between Yandex.Checkout and Moscow Tesla Club, Russian fans of the high-end products from Tesla Motors can make a secure and fast online prepayment for Tesla Model Y and preorder it right on the world premiere day,” says Dmitry Karmishin, Sales Director at Yandex.Money.

“Model Y is evidently the most anticipated electric car since the introduction of the first Tesla Model S sedan in 2008. Embracing all recent developments and experience of Tesla Motors, the vehicle will very likely win hearts and minds of Tesla enthusiasts in Russia where compact crossovers are very popular. Yandex.Checkout previously offered a great opportunity to preorder Model 3, and now we continue the cooperation to allow Russian customers to reserve their own just announced Model Y,” says Igor Antarov, Managing partner of Moscow Tesla Club.

In 2017, Yandex.Checkout was the first to offer advance prepayment for Tesla Model 3 in Russia. Yandex.Checkout analysts observed a stable demand for Model 3 preorders throughout 2017 and 2018. Besides, Yandex.Checkout regularly offers online prepayments on flagship and popular cars of various manufacturers in Russia.

Tesla Model Y is a mid-sized SUV that has a 5-star safety rating and self-driving features, and rides like a sports car with a sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 sec for the premium version. The new Model Y has a panoramic glass roof, seat five people with an optional 7 seat configuration. Long range version will be produced first (fall 2020), standard to follow later (spring 2021).
