Worldline presents innovative solutions at Mobile World Congress (MWC19 Barcelona)
Worldline, [Euronext: WLN], the European leader in the payment and transactional services industry, will present its latest innovations and solutions at MWC19, the annual gathering of world players in mobile which will be held in Barcelona from 25 – 28 February 2019.
In partnership with Atos, Worldline will present its new innovative solutions, in particular those for mobility, e-identity, new payment experiences and also mobile banking and concrete solutions developed with Blockchain. They are all aimed at simplifying and optimizing the customer experience and securing transactions.
MWC19 Barcelona is an opportunity to present YUMI, the brand new high-end multifunctional terminal for retail environments, to the European market. Its Android operating system makes it possible to develop applications that improve the user experience considerably. Equipped with a large, full touch screen, YUMI brings its customers a new dimension in interaction with a wide range of applications that go far beyond simple payment. For example, waiting time at the checkout counter can be turned into time with added value during which customers can make the most of reactive and customized services. Fully optimized for portable use and at the counter, YUMI’s 360° revolving design will exceed expectations of retailers in terms of flexibility and efficiency.
A new way of paying by ultrasound developed with French fintech company CopSonic, will be presented at the booth. CopSonic is one of the winners of Worldline’s “e-payments Challenge” held last October. It uses ultrasound technology integrated into Worldline’s Wallet mobile payment solution to improve customer experience. Secure information such as usernames, passwords, digital identities, electronic payments or Blockchain are conveyed by ultrasound. Just launch the application, and the ultrasound “travels” from the cash register or the voice assistant to the smartphone, where it is validated.
Worldline, which is one of the first companies to have developed solutions that integrate Blockchain, will present real use cases such as Origin (the first certified industrial food traceability solution marketed by Bureau Veritas) and Bloomen (a platform used to manage the digital rights for songs, photos and videos via Blockchain).
A mobility experience combining several modes of transport, identification and payment (Mobility as a Service) will also be demonstrated at the booth. This experience goes from journeyplanning to summarizing everything that has been purchased at the end of the day, thanks to a single mobility account managed by the WL Tap 2 Use solution.
Finally, Worldline will present its vision of the transport of tomorrow at the VISA booth, as well as its partnership with VISA to propose the Open Payment thanks to its WL Tap 2 Use solution, certified VISA Ready for Transit. The Open Payment makes it easier for travelers, in particular one-time customers, to validate and pay for their ticket. They will be able to travel using their contactless payment card, a smartphone or even a connected watch – no more tickets!
