Thunes Makes Executive Changes to Accelerate Global Growth

Thunes, a global cross-border payments company, today announced some changes in its executive team. A SaaS industry veteran Wolf Allisat was appointed as the company’s first Chief Revenue Officer. Simultaneously, Chief Commercial Officer Aik Boon (AB) Tan was promoted to President of Thunes Collections, effective immediately.

In the newly created position of CRO, Wolf will be defining the global Go-to-Market and Sales strategy for Thunes Payouts, serving as part of the executive leadership team, and playing a critical role in scaling Thunes’ sales to new customer segments globally.

As a President of Thunes Collections, a payin division of Thunes, AB will be responsible for building Thunes Collections into a global business, and realizing commercial ambitions of this fast-growing business line.

“Thunes is at a pivotal moment when we’ve built robust product and network capabilities, and are now starting to address significant growth opportunities in new customer segments and regions. So I’m very excited to welcome Wolf onboard. He is an outstanding addition to our team. He has a wealth of experience running Enterprise Sales at SaaS companies, and building world-class sales organisations, and I’m looking forward to his impact as Chief Revenue Officer of Thunes and his energy driving this next phase of our global growth,” said Peter De Caluwe, Chief Executive Officer, Thunes.

“AB has been a tremendous asset to the team and he has been a critical part of the company’s growth and success over the last several years. He is one of the most experienced people in the global payments ecosystem, and I can’t wait to see him unlocking the full potential of Thunes Collections,” he continued.

Wolf Allisat has vast experience as a senior digital executive with a strong history of success in growing companies through key phases in their evolutions from industry pioneers to becoming the global standard in their industries. Prior to joining Thunes, Wolf was the Chief Revenue Officer at Unbabel. Also, he served in a similar role at TagMan, ComScore and Adobe, where he was responsible for driving the company’s expansion strategy in key global markets across all channels.

AB Tan was one of the first employees of Thunes. He joined TransferTo, a parent company of Thunes, in 2006. Subsequent, he transitioned to Thunes in 2016 and was responsible for developing the payout network and building the sales team. Then he was tasked to scale the business globally by establishing a Global Sales team within the organisation. AB holds an engineering degree from Monash University in Australia and an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
