Thought Leaders Inspire at Storm Knowledge Event

Wednesday 11th October 2017 saw over 90 representatives from businesses across the Netherlands descend on the Inn Style conference centre in Maarssen, Utrecht, to learn about the benefits of transitioning to the cloud.

The third annual storm® Knowledge Event saw seven thought leaders deliver keynote speeches examining the theme of moving to the cloud from a variety of perspectives, all under the leadership of Chairman Sven Polak. The day began with a warm opening by Content Guru’s CEO (Netherlands), Michael van den Brink, and saw delegates hear practical examples of a migration process, learn about changing technology and approaches to data security, and discover how to use cloud technology to champion the customer.

The event began with a speech from Geeske te Gussinklo from the KSF (Klantenservice Federatie) about developments in customer contact technology, followed by a talk from Workforce Management Consultancy PlanMen about the next steps in WFM technology. Later in the day, Jan de Jong from Randstad shared his insights about why and when companies should instigate change. This was followed by a keynote from Microsoft’s Martin Vliem about cloud migration and having trust in the cloud.

In between there were two case study presentations from Feenstra and UK Power Networks, which focused on the idea that having the right technology will only work well if you have the right people in the right place. Sam Fuller, Head of Customer Service at UK Power Networks, talked about his role in transforming the way that his organisation structures its customer service. By introducing new, more convenient ways for customers to get in touch and a more proactive style of communication, UK Power Networks was able to completely turn around its reputation and significantly improve customer ratings.

The event drew to a close with a barbecue overlooking the scenic lakeside surroundings, where attendees were able to unwind after a day of learning and discuss the topics of the day.

Michel de Vos, Department Head – Marketing, at Content Guru B.V., commented:

The third annual storm knowledge event was our most successful to date! The calibre of speakers was fantastic and everyone who attended took away some great ideas and insights.

The cloud technology market continues to expand, and with that comes more opportunities and challenges for businesses. The event provided an excellent opportunity for leaders and decision makers to share their advice and concerns, and ultimately to promote the benefits of transitioning to the cloud.”
