The Future of Faster Payments to Take Center Stage During Industrywide Live Broadcast

On July 21, the Faster Payments Task Force will publish the second part of its highly anticipated report for spurring the U.S. toward a safe, fast and ubiquitous payments system. The task force’s findings will be shared by industry representatives during a live 11:30 a.m. ET broadcast panel program hosted by the Federal Reserve System.

The U.S. payment system is quickly evolving as new technologies, currencies and other innovations are beginning to change the way businesses and consumers make payments. But legacy systems still dictate the way money is transferred among people, businesses and governments. This online event will offer an overview of the Faster Payments Task Force’s final report, along with expert perspective on how the payments industry is working together to build a modern payments system that will benefit all.

The Faster Payments Task Force was established in 2015 to identify and evaluate alternative approaches for improving payment capabilities in the U.S. In January 2017, the task force published Part One of its final report, which provided an overview of its objectives and processes, described the current U.S. payments landscape and outlined the benefits of faster payments.
