Santander Consumer Bank Ships Personal Finance Management App With Nordic API Gateway
Nordic API Gateway announces that it has partnered with Santander Consumer Bank to deliver open banking capabilities for Santander’s new consumer-focused money app, Prosper. The Prosper app is set to take advantage of open banking opportunities by using account aggregation and payment initiation to offer their 1.5 million customers, as well as non-customers, in the Nordics a fully digital service that aims to give the user a complete financial overview across banks and ‘peace of mind’ when managing their money.
Santander Consumer Bank, have chosen Nordic API Gateway to power their new multi-banking personal finance management app, letting customers and non-customers alike manage all of their finances in one app across banks. With Santander Consumer Bank’s vision to go beyond regular banking, the Prosper app firmly helps and nudges users in a direction that encourages them to understand and take control of their spending habits without having to do the heavy lifting and calculations normally associated with a healthy, private economy.
The app can be used by anyone thanks to Nordic API Gateway’s in-depth coverage of access to financial data. Prosper is already being rolled out in Denmark and later across the rest of the Nordics.
Commenting on the collaboration, Oskar Karlsson, Product Manager at Santander Consumer Bank, said: “We’re thrilled to get Prosper up and running in collaboration with Nordic API Gateway. By using solid and stable open banking technologies, we’re opening up for an entirely new universe in showing how we as a bank can act to build products with the customer in mind. By launching Prosper, we’re acting on our agenda to fully go beyond regular banking with a tool for everyday financing.”

The partnership allows Santander Consumer Bank to deliver a smooth banking experience and build a go-to financial super app that caters to a wider audience. It’s great to see how open banking and PSD2 allow banks to move ahead and build fintech-driven solutions, like Prosper, that live up to the rapidly changing banking demands of consumers.”
