Registration opens for Sibos 2020 Boston as themes announced

Registration is open for Sibos 2020, with Boston playing host city once more. This year’s theme, driving the evolution of smart finance, will explore how the financial industry can make better decisions and run smarter businesses, while optimising available technology and data.

Global business leaders, decision makers and experts from the financial world will gather at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC), one of North America’s largest event venues from 5-8 October for the agenda-setting event.

Old and new favourites, such as Views from the Top, Big Issue Debates, Discover and Talent Thursday, will return, with news of exciting new initiatives and additions to be announced throughout the build-up to the event.

Participants will experience a high-quality programme, with a sharp focus on the core theme of smart finance and interconnected subthemes – delivering digital value, responsible innovation, and banking for humanity.

Participants will be challenged on how they can drive the evolution in smart finance, testing the limits of efficiencies and positive outcomes in an increasingly complex business environment. Revolutionary access to digital intelligence and technological innovation has dispelled long-held myths and helped businesses drill down into nearly every aspect of their operations, meaning we can no longer rely on outdated metrics to gauge success.

In a city known for its world-renowned universities Harvard and MIT the message is clear, we must transform responsibly, embracing innovation. For example, what lessons can be learnt from fintechs and bigtech in terms of agility and technological adoption? What are the evolving opportunities and risks for the payments, trade securities and FX markets in this brave new world of frictionless platforms? Is it possible to balance innovation with increased competition, as well as internal and external risk? Finally, how can the sector best champion workforce initiatives of inclusion and diversity, while supporting the wider transition to a more sustainable economy and environment?

In light of the ongoing outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19, we are closely monitoring health and travel advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and local authorities. We will advise you immediately of any changes to the event or any precautions that are necessary in advance of or on site at Sibos. Information will be updated on the Sibos website.
