PERKBOX UNBOXES: The Gym passes £100k milestone in savings in its investment towards employee happiness
The Gym, the pioneers of low-cost no contract 24/7 gyms in the UK, has been working with Perkbox, Europe’s fastest growing employee experience platform, since April 2016. Today it is announcing it has passed the milestone of £100K worth of savings in its investment towards employee happiness.
Maintaining company culture is a key focus for The Gym, which has recently launched a new innovative operating model in its gyms. This model, called ‘The New Gym Team’, is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to attracting the best Personal Trainers and providing an enhanced experience to their members and gym teams.
The company’s partnership with Perkbox caters for the entire employee experience of its members of staff – physical, financial and emotional. With a log in rate of 95%, and with over 450 employees, 6,060 perk redemptions have taken place on the platform to date, with over £100K worth of savings have been made.
Amongst the most popular perks redeemed are free coffees, discounted cinema tickets and exclusive Apple savings. These perks, along with the company’s in-house benefits which include a free gym membership for each employee and one friend or family member, cycle to work scheme and employee share scheme have made the company an award winning place to work. As a result, they have been recognised on several occasions including The Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For, as well as becoming the first fitness operator to achieve the Investors in People Gold Standard accreditation.
The company will also be launching Perkbox Recognition in the near future as part of its continuing commitment to enhance the company’s work culture and recognise the hard work of its employees.
