PensionBee appoints Maike Currie as VP Personal Finance
PensionBee, a leader in the consumer retirement market, today announces the appointment of Maike Currie as Vice President of Personal Finance.
Maike brings a 20-year track record in communication, commentary, client engagement and personal finance to her new role. She has held senior roles at some of the UK’s largest and most recognised financial services companies, including Hargreaves Lansdown, Fidelity International and Investec Asset Management (now Ninety One). Maike began her career as a financial journalist, writing for several Financial Times publications, including Investors Chronicle. She is also a published author.
Most recently, Maike was Head of Marketing Campaigns & Content at Hargreaves Lansdown, where she developed innovative strategies to engage millions of customers in understanding and managing their investments, savings and pensions.
Prior to this, she spent almost a decade at Fidelity International, where she specialised in engaging retail investors with content, commentary and campaigns across the business’ workplace pension and direct to consumer businesses. Her career has consistently centered on demystifying complex financial topics, championing financial wellbeing and creating engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. Maike is a leading voice on the need to close the gender pension gap and the importance of encouraging more women to invest.
At PensionBee, Maike will play a central role in shaping the company’s personal finance and consumer engagement strategy. Working closely with the brand and communications team, she will act as a key spokesperson for PensionBee on broad personal finance issues, supporting the company’s mission to make pensions simple and accessible for everyone.
Maike Currie, VP Personal Finance at PensionBee, said: “PensionBee is a company that I have long admired, showing what it means to be both progressive and people-centered. With female representation across the organisation and transparent salary bands, its values and actions truly reflect its vision of helping everyone save for a better retirement.
“I am thrilled to be joining PensionBee at such an exciting stage of its journey. Throughout my career I’ve been committed to helping people better engage with their money. Pensions are central to long-term financial wellbeing and, in today’s shifting UK landscape, making them simple, accessible, and part of our broader personal finance considerations has never been more important. I look forward to working with the team to deliver on that mission, backed by PensionBee’s innovative, customer-first approach.”
Jasper Martens, Chief Marketing Officer at PensionBee, said: “We are delighted to welcome Maike to PensionBee. Her wealth of experience in personal finance, media and communications will be invaluable as we continue to work towards our mission of building pension confidence and putting UK pension savers back in control of their retirement savings.
