Zimpler Receives Official Pix Authorisation From the Central Bank of Brazil
Zimpler, a leading Swedish company in Pay-by-Bank solutions, has received official authorization from the Central Bank of Brazil to operate Pix as a participant. The authorisation marks a new phase in Zimpler’s expansion in Latin America, reinforcing its commitment to the Brazilian market and its local partners. With Pix, Zimpler can now offer direct, real-time payments and strengthen its role as a trusted infrastructure provider in one of the world’s most advanced Open Finance ecosystems.
This authorization comes at a time of increasing regulatory scrutiny in Brazil, particularly within the payments and fintech sectors. In this context, Zimpler stands out for its robust compliance, governance, and security controls, demonstrating full alignment with the Central Bank’s requirements and international best practices.
“This authorisation marks a key milestone for Zimpler in Brazil”, said Johan Strand, CEO of Zimpler. “Pix is one of the most successful instant payment systems globally, and we’re proud to bring our European experience in Pay-by-Bank technology to support its continued growth. This step allows us to deepen our local partnerships and help businesses unlock the full potential of Open Finance in Brazil.”
Zimpler has been active in Brazil since 2022, offering secure and compliant account-to-account (A2A) payment solutions. Following its authorisation as a Payment Institution earlier this year, the Pix approval consolidates Zimpler’s regulatory position in the country and enables it to deliver complete instant payment services.
“Brazil’s digital economy is one of the most dynamic in the world,” added Sabrina Faria, Managing Director for Zimpler in Brazil. “Being authorised to operate Pix allows us to integrate seamlessly into local infrastructure, offering businesses faster payments, lower costs, and full compliance without unnecessary intermediaries.”
