The ai Corporation and Circle K Extend Their Partnership to Transform B2B Fuel Payments Across Mid-European Markets

The ai Corporation (ai), the leading provider of fuel and mobility card issuing systems, and Circle K, a global leader in mobility and convenience, today announced a significant expansion of their European partnership. Building on the successful implementation of ai’s scalable aiEazyFuel® payments platform across Circle K’s operations in their core Scandinavian and Baltic markets, Circle K will now extend its use of ai’s platform to power B2B fleet payments across its mid-European fuel retail sites. This expansion follows Circle K’s recent acquisition of certain retail assets from TotalEnergies in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Piers Horak, CEO of ai, states, “We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with Circle K and support their expansion into these important European markets. Our aiEazyFuel® platform delivers a modern, secure, and streamlined payment experience, and we are proud to contribute to Circle K’s commitment to enhancing the fuel retail experience for their business customers.”

aiEazyFuel® empowers Circle K to attract and retain new fleet customers in today’s digital landscape by providing the enhanced features, robust security, and streamlined processes that modern fleet managers demand. ai’s end-to-end payment solution removes the complexities associated with many fleet and fuel cards, allowing Circle K to streamline its business effectively and capitalise on the evolving needs of its customers. aiEazyFuel® will enhance Circle K’s payment solutions with the following key features:

  • Flexibility and ease of integration, which allows aiEazyFuel® to fit seamlessly into Circle K’s payments systems.
  • Standard integration protocols to support typical forecourt integrations via simple API connections with non-forecourt partners such as parking, toll, and EV providers. This means that payments using standard plastic cards operate seamlessly alongside payments from mobile phones and RFID fobs.
  • Multi-level customer hierarchy, which includes data inheritance and functionality enablement at all levels, allowing the creation of complex customer structures while minimising administration overheads.
  • Fully featured pricing rule functionality easily creates flexible pricing offerings for separate market segments.
  • Multiple invoicing frequencies and delivery channels are supported. Purchases from the same card are separated into customer invoices and driver invoices, allowing the invoicing of specific products directly to the driver.
  • Simplified cross-border transaction processing ensures visibility of national and cross-border transactions in a single invoice.

Leveraging ai’s feature-rich payments technology, Circle K empowers business customers to pay for fuel and other products seamlessly and securely using their fuel and mobility fleet cards.  Circle K operates 2,175 retail service stations in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, as well as a similar number in Scandinavia and the Baltics.

Reno Peter Øhlenschlæger, VP B2B Mobility and Sales at Circle K, comments, “At Circle K, we are committed to delivering a seamless and efficient experience for our customers, and this technology is a key enabler. The extension of our partnership with The ai Corporation and the rollout of the aiEazyFuel® platform across our Mid-European markets is an important milestone in our efforts to deliver best-in-class services to our business customers. As a core component of Circle K’s standardized B2B Payment Platform in Europe, it provides greater flexibility and smooth integration—making life easier for our customers. This collaboration supports our ambition to become the preferred mobility and convenience partner for businesses across Europe and beyond.”

By strengthening the AI Corporation Circle K partnership, the companies are speeding up innovation in B2B fuel payments, making it easier for businesses in Central Europe to get things done.
