Payments Are Still Handled as a Secondary Task In Most Businesses – Survey
A recent Payment maturity survey of 793 businesses worldwide conducted by Corefy shows that payments are often managed as part of general administrative duties (36.9%) or by a team member who has other responsibilities (28%). Only 14.5% have a specialised payment department.
These findings suggest that payments remain an under-prioritised function in many companies, even as transaction volumes and complexity increase. Without dedicated expertise, businesses may struggle with inefficiencies, provider management, and payment optimization.
“As payments become more complex, businesses need to start treating them as a strategic function rather than an afterthought,” said Denys Kyrychenko, Corefy’s Co-founder & CEO. “Having a dedicated payment manager or team can drive efficiency, cost savings, and a better overall payment experience.”
