Klarna and Poshmark Partner to Power Seamless Resale, Just in Time for Back-to-School
Klarna, the global digital bank and flexible payments provider, and Poshmark, the leading fashion resale marketplace, today announced a strategic partnership to simplify resale and empower consumers to earn from their wardrobes—just in time for back-to-school.
U.S. Klarna app users can now instantly list eligible purchases on Poshmark with the tap of a button. From back-to-school sneakers to last season’s backpack, this partnership makes it effortless to get more out of items you no longer use by listing in seconds.
In fact, in a recent Poshmark survey, 90% reported that Poshmark’s’s resale feature saved them time, and 78% reported this feature inspired them to resell something they otherwise wouldn’t have. Each listing is automatically pre-filled with product details and images, taking the hassle out of resale and enabling shoppers to earn cash for purchases they no longer need. For a limited time, first-time listers utilizing the Klarna feature will receive $10 in Posh Credit to spend on Poshmark as a welcome bonus.
This launch comes at a critical time: American families are expected to spend an average of $870 on back-to-school shopping this year, putting pressure on household budgets. At the same time, consumers are embracing resale in record numbers: the global second-hand fashion market is expected to grow to $521.5 billion in 2034, in part due to rising awareness among consumers of environmental issues that are associated with fashionable clothing and accessories.
The Klarna Poshmark resale tool auto-fills listings with details and images, making resale quick and inspiring users to earn from unused items.
“As families prepare for back-to-school, Klarna and Poshmark are making it easier than ever to unlock the value of items they no longer use,” said David Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Klarna. “With just a few taps, shoppers can list items directly from the Klarna app to Poshmark—clearing out space and giving everyday items a second life.”
This joint initiative also contributes to the growing circular economy. With over 400 million items already kept in circulation via Poshmark, the resale boom is being driven by Gen Z and Millennial consumers looking for smarter ways to shop and live.
“The back-to-school season is the perfect time for refreshing wardrobes, and we’re thrilled to team up with Klarna to make that easier and more sustainable than ever,” said Manish Chandra, Founder & CEO of Poshmark. “This partnership isn’t just about convenience; it’s about making it incredibly simple and fun to shop the largest network of closets across America, all while empowering individuals to earn from their style.”
