HyperJar Lands Festival Republic Digital Voucher Contract
Payments and wallets fintech HyperJar has signed a deal with Festival Republic, the Live Nation owned festival operator, to provide the UK’s leading live entertainment promoter with world-first digital vouchers for this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival. The vouchers are powered by HyperJar’s B2B technology platform, HyperLayer.
HyperJar won a competitive bid to provide a digital wallet and loyalty programme that allows and incentivises festivalgoers to top-up a spending balance in advance of an event, which can then only be spent with festival vendors. More than 200,000 people will head to Reading & Leeds Festival this year, making it the 2nd largest festival in the UK.
HyperJar’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nicola Longfield, says: “This project is the perfect showcase for HyperLayer’s exceptional tech, and we were able to deliver exactly what the team at Festival Republic needed to a tight deadline. Our smart vouchers offer organisations a unique way to incentivise loyalty before a consumer wants to spend, and then to direct where the balance can be spent – from a single store to site-wide retail units at huge events like the Reading & Leeds Festival.”
People can buy the festival smart vouchers for themselves or as a gift, both from a web-based voucher page and the award-winning HyperJar spending app. They are redeemed automatically when festivalgoers spend in any outlet at the events using their HyperJar debit cards.
Festival Republic Managing Director, Melvin Benn, says: “HyperJar was the right business with the right tech to meet our brief. This is an exciting step in Festival Republic’s ongoing commitment to enhancing our customer’s experience and utilising new digital platforms.”
