Form3 Expands Growing Client Base With European Fintech Mollie
WHY THIS MATTERS: The collaboration between Form3 and Mollie underscores a critical inflection point in the European payments landscape driven by stringent regulatory shifts. While the immediate focus is on meeting the EU’s Verification of Payee (VoP) mandate, the broader significance lies in the industry’s deepening commitment to combating Authorized Push Payment Fraud (APP fraud). This type of financial crime exploits trust and is a major threat to the integrity of account-to-account payments. For payments infrastructure providers, regulatory compliance is no longer a checklist item but a competitive differentiator. By adopting a scalable, cloud-native solution like Form3’s, businesses like Mollie can secure their ecosystem quickly, turning a regulatory burden into an operational advantage that fosters greater consumer trust and resilience against financial crime. This move signals that proactive, API-driven solutions are becoming the essential standard for any PSP operating at volume in Europe.
Form3, the secure cloud-native account-to-account global payments platform, today announced the successful delivery of a fully compliant Verification of Payee (VoP) solution for leading European payments service provider Mollie. The implementation enables Mollie to meet European VoP requirements and better protect its customers from misdirected payments and authorised push payment fraud.
With a limited window in which to meet the EU’s regulatory deadline for Verification of Payee, Form3’s easy to onboard platform ensured immediate regulatory compliance, without compromising Mollie’s future on scalability.
Form3’s Verification of Payee capability is built on the same cloud-native infrastructure that supports high-volume payment flows across Europe and the UK. Designed for scale and resilience, the platform enables payment service providers (PSPs) like Mollie to meet regulatory requirements efficiently while remaining ready to extend their services as market and regulatory demands evolve.
Form3’s platform also supports clients to achieve broader operational resilience objectives in the EU,
including the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), which exists to ensure financial entities are more resilient. As a trusted, critical third party, Form3 is recognised as a fully compliant partner.
Mollie is the latest to join Form3’s client roster that spans fintechs including Klarna, GoCardless and SumUp, as well as Tier 1 banks including Barclays, JP Morgan and Lloyds.
Mike Walters, CEO at Form3 says: “Verification of Payee is a critical step in preventing payments fraud and protecting end customers. We’re pleased to partner with Mollie to deliver a compliant, scalable VoP capability built for high-volume payment environments. Our onboarding approach and cloud-native platform helped Mollie implement quickly while staying ready for what comes next.”
“As regulatory demands continue to evolve, banks and fintechs are looking for payments infrastructure that is not only compliant but is agile, adaptable and of course scalable. Form3’s API continually updates, so that our partners are automatically compliant with any new regulation. This compliance by design coupled with our deep technical knowledge and broad market experience makes us an attractive partner for fintechs and Tier 1 banks alike.”
Felix Würtenberger, VP of Product at Mollie says: “Meeting the EU’s Verification of Payee mandate is a key compliance priority for Mollie as we are committed to protecting our merchants with the highest standards of payment security. To implement the required technical solution, we selected Form3’s platform, ensuring we are compliant and can continue to provide a secure and reliable service for our customers.”
