Featurespace Fortifies Payments Expertise in APAC With New General Manager

Featurespace, the leader in enterprise technology that pioneers native AI and machine learning solutions to combat fraud and financial crime, has announced the appointment of Australian payments expert Phillip Finnegan as General Manager for Asia Pacific (APAC).

In APAC, approximately 5% of revenue is lost each year to payment fraud – around $4 for all transactions made, according to Recorded Future. Sydney-based Finnegan, who is a distinguished leader in Financial Services Technology, will help strengthen Featurespace’s ability to support banks and payment providers in Asia Pacific to counteract the persistent problem of fraud.

“Phillip brings to Featurespace exemplary business leadership and a lifelong commitment to serving the financial services community in APAC,” said Martina King, Featurespace CEO. “His unique, regional knowledge will be instrumental to those who rely on Featurespace to better protect their customers from the specific financial crimes affecting APAC. I have no doubt that our customers will feel his impact, not only directly but as he develops the next generation of leaders with a steely focus on helping APAC-based organisations counteract fraud.”

With a wealth of regional payments and financial services experience, Finnegan has held roles at First Data (now Fiserv), FIS, ACI, and Temenos, serving as a change agent delivering transformational business strategy and innovative technology outcomes. In addition, Finnegan has served as an advisor to APAC-based fintech startups and has significantly contributed to sector development through various industry groups in the region.
