FastSpring Expands Global Payment Offering With UPI in India, Powered by EBANX
FastSpring, the leading merchant of record (MoR) platform for global SaaS and software companies, has integrated Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in India through its partnership with EBANX, a global technology company specializing in payment services for emerging markets. This expansion gives software sellers on the FastSpring platform the ability to offer India’s most popular and widely used payment method at checkout.
With this launch, FastSpring continues to deepen its support for high-growth emerging markets and enable digital businesses to sell globally with local precision. UPI is the most dominant payment method in India, accounting for 55% of all digital transactions in the country, according to Payments and Commerce Market Intelligence (PCMI) data featured in EBANX’s study Beyond Borders 2025. Offering UPI through FastSpring allows SaaS and software companies to provide Indian customers with a seamless, familiar, and trusted payment experience.
“India is one of the fastest-growing digital economies in the world, and localizing checkout experiences is key to success there,” said Jeremy Waxman, Vice President of Payment Operations of FastSpring. “Adding UPI through our partnership with EBANX is a major step forward for our customers selling into India. It’s part of our broader commitment to help software companies maximize conversions and revenue globally.”
“FastSpring is helping software sellers scale globally with locally optimized payments,” said Rashmi Satpute, Country Director of India at EBANX. “By enabling UPI, they’re empowering their customers to reach one of the largest and most dynamic digital economies in the world. We’re proud to partner with them on this expansion, which reinforces EBANX’s philosophy that localized payments can truly help global businesses grow faster.”
From now on, FastSpring sellers can enable UPI directly from their FastSpring account with no additional technical work required. The payment method is supported alongside FastSpring’s full suite of global payments, taxes, fraud protection, subscription management, and more.
More payment options
The addition of UPI is part of FastSpring’s Spring 2025 product release, which focused on unlocking emerging markets through expanded local payment support, including Hipercard and Elo in Brazil, and now UPI in India.
This new step of the companies’ partnership builds on FastSpring’s integration of Brazil’s popular instant payment system Pix through EBANX, which has been enabling its clients to offer seamless local payment experiences to Brazilian customers for over a year.
This month, Satpute and Waxman will co-present a panel at the 8th EBANX Payments Summit, taking place from September 17 to 20 in Mexico City, showcasing how localizing the payment experience is essential to unlocking cross-border growth in India’s digital commerce.
