Club Brugge KV Appoints Neo as its Official Foreign Currency Exchange Partner
Belgian Pro League team Club Brugge KV has announced a new five-year partnership with Neo, the cross-border payments and foreign exchange (FX) fintech, as its Official Foreign Currency Exchange Partner until 2030.
As the Official Foreign Currency Exchange Partner of Club Brugge KV, Neo will handle the club’s FX and multi-currency transfer payments, helping the club to save on currency FX transaction costs.
With Club Brugge KV competing regularly in top European competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, the club requires robust and cost-efficient FX and payments solutions to support its international operations, whether that be player transfers and staff payments, travel or sponsorship deals.
Neo simplifies international treasury operations through its all-in-one platform. The fintech provides businesses with an International Bank Account Number (IBAN), enabling seamless payments in over 25 currencies. Its best-in-class FX executions ensure transparent pricing when buying or selling currencies. Neo’s wallet architecture simplifies fund management by allowing firms to hold, organise and exchange multiple currencies for rapid payments. Additionally, Neo delivers exceptional client support through a dedicated team of experts who assist with cross-border operations.
Headquartered in Barcelona, Neo has evolved from a platform offering FX trading to becoming a one-stop shop for businesses across the globe, working with more than 300 corporate clients across 28 countries. To date, it has cleared more than €20 billion through its Bank Identification Code (BIC) on the SWIFT network, including €7 billion in 2024 alone.
Michiel Van Cauwenberghe, New Business Manager at Club Brugge KV, said, “At Club Brugge, we’re committed to building something special on and off the pitch. With Neo as a trusted partner, we’re enhancing the way we manage foreign currency and payments across the club. Their support will play an important role in helping us deliver on our ambitions over the coming seasons.”
Laurent Descout, co-founder and CEO of Neo, said: “We’re proud to support one of Europe’s most ambitious clubs. Football today is a global business, and smart currency management plays a vital role in helping clubs stay financially agile.
At Neo, we’ve worked with leading organisations in the sports industry, so we understand the challenges that come with international operations. Our platform is designed to make cross-border finance simple, transparent and cost-effective, and we look forward to working closely with Club Brugge over the next five years.”
