PayByPhone expands into Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain

The rapidly-growing global leader in mobile parking payments, PayByPhone, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services, expands into Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain. This follows PayByPhone’s recent announcement of its UK acquisition of Mirada Connect Ltd.

The addition of these markets means PayByPhone is now available in more than 500 cities in 12 countries around the world (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States), with nearly 29.1 million registered users paying for parking via the PayByPhone app or website.

At the beginning of June 2019, customers in Germany, Italy and Spain saw the travipay app relaunched as PayByPhone. PayByPhone also went live in Belgium in July 2019 in five cities with more to be added before the end of the summer. Jonny Combe, PayByPhone’s UK CEO, says, “We’re a strong, dynamic and growing business not just in the UK, but also in the rest of Europe. We’re quickly positioning ourselves as the UK market leader with a surge of new contract wins, aggressive growth initiatives and acquisitions, and we achieved Carbon Neutral status earlier this year in the UK. It is fantastic to see this expansion further into Europe, which will continue to underscore our global leadership position.”
