Nok Nok Labs Launches Enhanced Authentication with Risk Signals
Nok Nok Labs is pleased to announce availability the Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite – Premium Edition providing risk-based authentication. Nok Nok Labs enables deploying organizations leverage biometrics to deliver an improved mobile app authentication experience, improve security, reduce costs and provide better privacy. Using the standards-based approach supporting the FIDO UAF specification, organizations can speed biometric authentication deployments and future-proof for future biometric authenticators.
The Premium Edition provides several new features and significant improvements including:
Nok Nok Authentication Server
- Risk & Policy Engine: New policy and risk engine that provides the ability to evaluate risk signals and enforce new types of policies. Risk signals include geolocation, travel speed, friendly fraud prevention, and device health. The policy engine can generate a risk score based on signals
- Policy Editor Tool: Browser-based graphical editor to create and edit UAF policies and risk rules
- Multi-tenancy: Support for multiple tenants from the same Nok Nok Authentication Server installation with tenant specific properties
- Simplified integration: Simpler integration enabling quicker deployment using Nok Nok Gateway

- Mobile Browser Authentication: FIDO authentication for mobile websites using mobile apps integrated with Nok Nok App SDK
- Simplified App Integration: Simpler integration using Nok Nok Gateway
- Risk Signals: New risk signals for stronger authentication assurance including location, location velocity and device ID
- UAF Registration Bootstrapping: Ability to bootstrap a FIDO registration on a new device using an existing FIDO credential
- Apple Watch Authenticator (Experimental): Ability to authenticate using Apple Watch as a FIDO authentication token

Mastercard Advances Instant Cross-Border Payments with TIPS Cross-Currency Pilot
Mastercard today announced its participation in a Eurosystem-led pilot, conducted in collaboration with Danmarks Nationalbank and Sveriges Riksbank, on the TARGET Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS) platform, testing instant cross-currency payments (TIPS X-CCY). Participation in the pilot represents a key milestone in Mastercard’s strategy to build direct connectivity to payment infrastructures and demonstrates how instant cross‑border payments can be executed and settled instantly at infrastructure level.
