New partnership between SATA Group Airlines and Fly Now Pay Later means travellers can now spread the cost of their flights
When planning their next trip, U.S. customers of the Azores-headquartered airline will no longer be required to pay in full at the time of booking, easing the financial burden of arranging travel and helping to facilitate a smoother and less stressful booking experience.
U.S passengers can now choose to spread the cost of their trip over twelve months by selecting Fly Now Pay Later at the checkout on the website – www.azoresairlines.pt
“Buying travel should be as satisfying and seamless as the trip itself. For many, the upfront cost can be prohibitively expensive, ultimately putting the brakes on a break entirely or dampening the enjoyment of it.” said Jasper Dykes, chief executive at Fly Now Pay Later
A recent study showed that two in three respondents would be more likely to buy from a travel provider if it allowed them to pay in installments.
Sitting conveniently between North America and Europe, the Portuguese airline offers shortened travel times and stopover programs for the benefit of visiting friends and relatives living in the two Continents.
With this partnership, customers will have the flexibility to choose how and when they wish to pay, tailoring their budget to their needs, instead of their needs to their budget.
Defying the downturn, Fly Now Pay Later, founded by CEO Jasper Dykes (32) in 2015, recently secured a further USD $75m in a new round of investment, bringing its total to USD $150 million in debt and equity funding. It now serves hundreds of thousands of consumers in the UK, US and Germany.
Luis Rodrigues, SATA Group Chief Executive, said; “The business achieved an extraordinary traffic recovery rate in 2021, well above sector estimates.
“In October, the first time since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, sales surpassed pre-pandemic traffic records. SATA Group airlines also registered a new record in the number of passengers transported, compared to the same period in previous years.
“The results exceeded all expectations, confirming the company’s strategy in developing customer service.
“We see the partnership with Fly Now Pay Later as a huge opportunity to do something fresh that helps travellers by offering a flexible, controlled and customer-centric option to spread the cost of paying for a holiday over a number of months.
“As emerging variants continue to cast shadows over travel, we believe solutions that diversify customer choice and help to reduce cart abandonment rates are important.
“SATA Azores Airlines has affirmed itself as an international airline that embraces the mission of building Atlantic bridges between the Azores and the world. We hope that our convenient payment alternatives will encourage passengers to book their next trip, and look forward to welcoming them on board in 2022.”
