MoonPay Taps Asiff Hirji as President and Chief Operating Officer
MoonPay, the world’s leading Web3 infrastructure company, has announced its hiring of Asiff Hirji as President and Chief Operating Officer of the company, effective immediately. Hirji, a former President & Chief Operating Officer of Coinbase, brings with him a wealth of knowledge stemming from seasoned careers at the likes of A16Z, TPG Capital, TD Ameritrade, Bain & Co. and more. Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO & Co-Founder of MoonPay, stated, “Our mission has always been rooted in onboarding the world to Web3, and with recent hires like that of Asiff Hirji, we feel more confident than ever that we are getting closer to that goal.”
Hirji expressed his excitement to join MoonPay, saying, “Since MoonPay’s inception in 2019, I’ve kept a keen eye on the company and am thrilled to be joining the team as President and COO. MoonPay is competitively positioned to push forward mainstream Web3 adoption, and I’m looking forward to bringing my expertise and insights to their leadership team to further advance the company’s mission.”
The company’s recent hiring of Lindsey Haswell as its new Chief Legal Officer further expands its leadership team, paving the way for an array of opportunities at MoonPay. As a former public board member of Advent Software and Citrix Systems Inc., and having served on the boards of Saxo Bank, TES Global, RentPath, and Eze Software, Hirji has experience in CEO transitions, business model changes, M&A, divestitures, and transformations.
