MoonPay Announces Partnership with LooksRare

Today, MoonPay has announces its new partnership with NFT marketplace LooksRare. As part of the multiyear deal, LooksRare will allow users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies exclusively through MoonPay.

LooksRare is a decentralized and community-first NFT marketplace on the Ethereum mainnet. The platform quickly rose to prominence in January 2022 by generating over $1 billion in sales volume within a week of launching. It achieved this early success partly by airdropping its native token LOOKS to any OpenSea user who had spent more than 3 ETH in the second half of 2021, and also by offering appealing incentives to users. LooksRare is unique among other secondary marketplaces in that traders are rewarded with LOOKS and all the fees generated on the platform go towards staking rewards.

“We’re excited to become an exclusive partner to LooksRare and offer their users more opportunities to buy and sell their cryptocurrency,” said Oliver Jeffcott, Senior Business Development Manager at MoonPay. “From day one, we’ve wanted MoonPay to be a platform that increases access and usability for the Web3 community and this partnership is another step in driving that vision.”

Future plans for the MoonPay and LooksRare partnership also include the integration of NFT Checkout, MoonPay’s industry-first solution that enables anyone to buy NFTs with a credit card. NFT Checkout will be available for all primary and secondary sales on LooksRare.

With the NFT Checkout integration, LooksRare users will be able to easily purchase an NFT using a debit or credit card, sidestepping the need to first acquire cryptocurrency. This simplifies the purchasing process and opens up the marketplace to a wider customer base.

MoonPay users can also now buy LOOKS, which is available for purchase directly on MoonPay or through one of its many partner wallets using a credit card or bank transfer
