Money20/20, the World’s Largest FinTech event, Announces Launch of Money20/20 Asia

Money20/20, the world’s largest FinTech events, today announced the launch of Money20/20 Asia, a complete conference and exhibition event for the Asia Pacific payments and financial services landscape. The inaugural Money20/20 Asia will take place in Singapore from 13th – 15thMarch 2018.

Money20/20 was founded in the US in 2011 and is now recognised as the largest FinTech event in the world. The 5th annual Money20/20 US, taking place this week in Las Vegas, has more than 10,000 attendees, including more than 1,000 CEOs, from over 3,000 companies across 75 countries. The event will also welcome over 500 speakers including Jack Dorsey of Twitter and Square and Douglas Feagin of Ant Financial Group, the financial services arm of Alibaba.

In the first of its international expansions, Money20/20 successfully launched into the European market earlier this year. The successful first edition of Money20/20 Europe, held in Copenhagen in April, welcomed over 3,750 attendees from more than 1,500 companies and 75 countries, including 1,000+ CEOs.

Tracey Davies, Managing Director, Money20/20 Europe and Asia, commented: “We are thrilled to bring together an all-inclusive, senior audience of key industry players in Singapore in 2018. Money20/20 Asia will provide the platform for pan-Asian and global companies to connect and explore the unique opportunities fuelling the fast expansion of the Asia Pacific payments and financial services landscape.

From established global organisations to new and disruptive FinTech startups, as well as retailers, tech giants and investors, Money20/20 Asia will enable true collaboration across all industry verticals,” added Davies.

Research shows that in 2015, FinTech investment in Asia quadrupled, reaching $4.5B – more than the previous four years’ investment combined. Rising regional access to smartphone connectivity is growing at a startling rate which in turn is opening up greater access to financial services for many. Combine this with the region being identified as the world’s largest B2C e-commerce market and the sheer size of the increasingly tech savvy ‘middle class’ population, it is clear that the time is right for Money20/20 – the world’s biggest, boldest and best event – covering payments and financial services innovation to launch in Asia.

The launch has the support of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Singapore’s central bank and financial regulator, which has also been spearheading a FinTech reboot of financial services, stressing the importance of having a ‘Smart Financial Centre’ with a favourable environment for FinTech startups.

In anticipation of the launch into the APAC region, Money20/20 US features an Asia Pacific Pavilion at this year’s event– exhibiting companies include: Airwallex, Invest Hong Kong, Moroku, New South Wales Trade & Invest, VeryPlanet and Zaisan Net.
